GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • The rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to each post /District Unit in respect ofpost of Revenue Assistant in Revenue Department separately. The Unit wise distributionof vacancies as per rules will be announced later.
     
  • In G.O. (Ms.) No.145, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (S) Department, dated30.09.2010, and G.O.(Ms.)No.40 Personnel and Administrative Reforms(S) Departmentdated 30.04.2014 the Government have issued orders to fill up 20% of all vacancies in DirectRecruitment on preferential basis to persons who studied the prescribed qualification inTamil Medium. The 20% reservation of vacancies on preferential allotment to Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) will apply for this recruitment. . (Candidate sclaiming this reservation should have studied the prescribed qualification for the post in TamilMedium and should have the certificate for the same. Having written the examinations inTamil language alone will not qualify for claiming this reservation). If the candidates withPSTM are not available for selection for appointment against reserved turn such turn shall befilled up by Non-PSTM candidates but belonging to the respective communal category. ThePSTM reservation certificate, shall be produced / uploaded by the candidate as it has been inprescribed format / proforma available in the Commission’s website at ‘www.tnpsc.gov.in’which shall be obtained from the Head of the Institution.

  • The number of vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable to modification withreference to vacancy position at any time before finalisation of selection for Oral Test.
     
  • Correct and true information regarding arrest, convictions / debarment / disqualification by anyrecruiting agency, criminal or any disciplinary proceedings initiated or finalised, participation inagitation or any Political Organisation, candidature in election for Parliament / StateLegislature / Local Bodies etc, if any, should also be furnished to the Commission at the timeof application i.e. the details thereof, originals of the judgement of Acquittals, order/ or G.O.Dropping further action in Departmental proceedings or any document that may prove thesuitability of such candidates for a Government appointment in such cases must be producedat the stage / time of certificate verification.
     
  • The selection for appointment to the above said posts is purely provisional subject to finalorders on pending Writ Petitions, if any, filed in Madras High Court and High Court of MaduraiBench.
     
  • If no qualified and suitable women candidates are available for selection against thevacancies reserved for them, those vacancies will be filled by male candidates belonging tothe respective communal categories.
     
  • 10% of vacancies out of 30% of vacancies set apart for Women candidates in directrecruitment are reserved for Destitute Widows in respect of the posts for which the scale ofpay does not exceed Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay 2800/- (PB 1). The G.O. regardingdefinition of Destitute Widow is available as Annexure-III of this Notification.
     
  • 5% of vacancies shall be set apart for Ex-Servicemen in the posts which are classified underGroup-‘C’ (i.e.,) with the Grade Pay minimum of which Rs.1,400/- and above but belowRs.4,400/-. If no qualified and suitable Ex-Servicemen belonging to a particular category isavailable for selection for appointment against reserved turn, such turn shall be filled up by acandidate other than Ex-Servicemen but belonging to the particular communal category. TheG.O. regarding definition of Ex-Serviceman is available as Annexure-IV.
     
  • 3% reservation for Differently Abled person is applicable for this recruitment except for theposts of Junior Employment Officer (Non-DA) and Assistant Inspector of Labour. If no suitableDA candidate belonging to the respective category to which it is earmarked is available forselection, it will be carried forward to next recruitment. The G.O. regarding Differently Abled isavailable as Annexure-V of this Notification.

(B) KNOWLEDGE OF TAMIL :

Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil on the date of this Notification. (for details refer para 11 of the ‘Instructions to the candidates’)

Candidates with defective vision should produce eye fitness certificate from qualified eye
 

  1. The Differently Abled persons should produce a certificate of physical fitness from the MedicalBoard to the effect that his/her handicap will not render him/her incapable of efficiently discharging the duties attached to the post to which he/she has been selected, before appointment. Percentage of disability should be specifically mentioned.
     
  2. Even after filling up of the posts reserved for SC (Arunthathiyars) on preferential basis, if morenumber of qualified Arunthathiyars are available, they shall be entitled to compete with theScheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars in the inter-se-merit among them and if anyposts reserved for Arunthathiyars remain unfilled for want of adequate number of qualifiedcandidates, it shall be filled up by Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars.
     
  3. Regarding the vacancies available in the Department of Hindu Religious and CharitableEndowments, only persons professing Hindu Religion are eligible.
     
  4. The original certificate for any claim relating to the selection (not related to candidature or /and claims made in the application) should be produced when called for. Any claim receivedthereafter will received no attention.
     
  5. Applications containing wrong claims relating to other basic qualifications / eligibilityage/ category of reservation / educational qualification will be liable for rejection.

NOTE:
 

  1. For Main Written Examination, candidates will be allotted to the nearest any one of the above eight centres as decided by the Commission.
     
  2. Candidates will be required to appear for the Written Examination / Oral Test / Certificate verification at their own expenses.
     
  3. Request for change of centre will not be compiled with.
     
  4. The Commission reserves the right to increase / decrease the number of Examination Centres and to re-allot the candidates.

 For Preliminary Examination

 Rs.125/-(Examination Fee Rs. 75/- + Cost of Application Rs.50/-  (Rupees One hundred and twenty five only)

 For Main Written Examination

 Rs.100/-(Rupees One hundred only)

  • Candidates claiming exemption from examination fee should pay only Rs.50/- towards Application fee. (No exemption for cost of application)
     
  • The fee for Main Written Examination should be paid by those who are to beadmitted to the Main Written Examination, based on the result of PreliminaryExamination, on receipt of intimation from the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, unless exemption of fee is claimed. 
     
  • Candidates can avail of the facility of the One - Time Registration on payment of Rs. 50/- towards registration fee. The registration shall be valid for a period of five years from the date of one - time registration. 
     
  • Offline Mode of payment in the form of Demand Draft / Postal Orders etc. will not beaccepted and the applications forwarded with such modes of payments will be summarilyrejected. 
     
  • Those who have registered in the One - Time Registration system, and paid theregistration fee of Rs.50/- and received the registration ID need not pay the application fee i.e., Rs. 50/- and it is enough to pay the examination fee alone.
     
  • Candidates who have made One - Time Registration must apply for these notified posts.One - Time Registration is only to avail exemption for application fee for a period of5 years from the date of Registration.

Application Process

  • Candidates should apply only through online in the Commission’s Website www.tnpsc.gov.inor in www.tnpscexams.net.
     
  • Before applying, the candidates should have scanned image of their photograph and signaturein CD/DVD/Pen drive as per their convenience.
     
  • A valid e-mail ID or Mobile Number is mandatory for registration and email ID should be keptactive till the declaration of results. You are cautioned to keep your e-mail ID and pass wordconfidentially. TNPSC will send Hall Tickets (Memorandum of Admission) for PreliminaryExamination, Main Written Examination, Interview Call Letters, Other Memosetc. to theregistered / given e-mail ID only.
     
  • All the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, PostApplied, Communal Category, Educational qualification, Date of birth, Address, e mail ID,Centre of Examination etc. will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowedafter the last date specified for applying online. Since certain fields, viz., Name, Date ofBirth, Community are firm and fixed and cannot be edited, candidates are requested to fill inthe online application form with the utmost care as no correspondence regarding change ofdetails will be entertained.

  • The candidates who wish to receive SMS should register their mobile number in the application
     

Applying Online:

  1. Candidates are first required to log on to the TNPSC’s website www.tnpsc.gov.in orwww.tnpscexams.net.
     
  2. Click “Apply Online” to open up the On-Line Application Form.
     
  3. Select the name of the post or service for which you wish to apply.
     
  4. If you already have Unique ID, enter the Unique ID and password to view thealready available information and update them, if necessary.
     
  5. If you do not have valid ID, enter all the required particulars without skipping any field.
     
  6. Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature as per the specificationsgiven in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature. An onlineapplication uploaded without the photograph and signature will be rejected.
     

NOTE : Candidate who have One Time Registration ID (Unique ID) and password, have to apply separately for all Notifications. One Time Registration will not be considered as an applicationfor any post.
 

PROCEDURE OF SELECTION :

The selection will be made in three successive stages viz., (i) Preliminary Examination forselection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination (ii) Main WrittenExamination and (iii) an Oral Test in the shape of an Interview. The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 10 times the number of candidates to be recruited having regard to the rule of reservation of appointments. However, in each reservation group, all the candidates who secure the same marks as that of cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:10 ratio.
